The Austin Food Service Department continually strives for excellence and achieving the organizations priority that “Patient Experience is Exceptional”. Gaps were identified in the current menu being offered to Austin Health patients and key areas of improvement in menu design were investigated.
The Food Service Department and Medichef have been working collaboratively over the last year on a menu rejuvenation project.
Food and optimal nutrition play a major role in the health and wellbeing of patients and are essential for treatment and recovery. It is anticipated that the implementation of a new menu will encourage food consumption and reduce food waste by providing greater choices that appeal to a wider range of patients.
We are extremely excited to launch the new menu late 2016 . Improving food quality and enhancing patient experience are directly related It is anticipated that both will exhibit an upward trend as a result of this project.
